An Approach for Predicting the Apparent Color of Carpets under Different Illuminants

The color appearance of residential carpets under different illuminants can influence the purchase decisions consumers, visual merchandisers, and interior designers. This study was designed to investigate characterize average Noon Daylight (D65), Incandescent (A), Cool White Fluorescent (F02) commonly used in retail household settings. objective this identify key features significantly affecting apparent those three illuminants. Four were dyed with light, medium, dark shades red green colors difference perception when illuminated by lighting arrangements. A spectrophotometer measure lightness, chroma, hue via CIELAB scale developed Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE). Statistically significant differences among L*, a*, b* values evaluated using Analysis Variance (ANOVA). Regression analyses carried out parameters a* values.
